Evangelism begins with God’s work in us that then extends continually outward to those around us... Even to the ends of the earth

EVANGELISM + DISCIPLESHIP = MISSION

Often, mission work in the church is reduced to service. While the church is meant to serve, such as providing food for those in need and help with disaster relief, it is also important to recognize that mission work according to the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:18-20, includes both evangelism (i.e., sharing the Gospel) and discipleship (i.e., teaching people to follow Jesus).

Our Story Church aims to recognize these aspects of mission so that we are fully participating in the Great Commission while also take part in acts of service that is part of the ministry of caring for the needs of our community.

MISSIOn + REST = OBEDIENCE

The worship model for Our Story Church addresses worship as an interconnected practice that encompasses each aspect of our lives—that is why we call it “The Rhythm of Worshipful Living.” All areas flow out from our recognition of who God is, with our adoration and reverence, to be then discipled as people who seek after God.

As we continue our discipleship, if we do not rest, we will be unable to serve and follow, as we will burn out. If we do not give, we will not be able to support the ministry's needs for collective gatherings and service to others. And if we are not living these things out to be truly discipled, then we are unable to evangelize because we are not transformed in a way that makes God’s work in our lives overflow for others to see. When we live this out with balance, we can become who God calls us to be, with impactful outward missions locally, regionally, and internationally.

We are faithful to each aspect of the "Rhythm of Worshipful Living" (worship, discipleship, rest, service, giving, and evangelism) so that we can experience a healthy rhythm of life as continual worship. Ministry can quickly become a burden that we attempt to bear in our own strength, and so we hold one another accountable for mission and service rooted in God, with obedience to REST

Ordinary People, Extraordinary Things.
